Are you the one to fulfill the prophecy?
The mission of YWAM Tribal Winds is to reach Native Americans and the Pacific Rim for Jesus. The Hopis of Arizona have a prophecy that the True Brother, Pahana, will someday return in friendship to show them the way to Itaana, our Heavenly Father.
God has strategically directed us first to the Hopis and on to other
tribes of the Pacific Rim. It is our mission to be true brothers and
sisters to our native friends. We are seeking to come alongside in ways
that encourage them to find the Hopi, Navajo and Islander Jesus. Who
will then direct them to reach out to... the ends of the earth for Jesus! (Isaiah 42:1-17)
Tribal Winds DTS
Our Discipleship Training is an intense preparation for missionary work with indigenous peoples.
At
least half of the teachers are themselves native Christian leaders.
Most of the training and work takes place on the Hopi reservation where we maintain a secondary base. We also do outreaches to other tribes and reservations, primarily in the Southwest.
Flagstaff Base
Following ten years of initial work among the Hopi on their reservation in Northeast Arizona, Tribal Winds has located its hub base in beautiful Flagstaff. Located at 6300 ft., is not far from the Grand Canyon and numerous tribal groups. The Navajo rez is just down the road.
Ministry Philosophy
In Acts 17, Paul states that, He has made from one blood every nation of man to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and boundaries of their habitation, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being...
From Babel God distributed the peoples of the earth giving each of them the gift of language and culture. We believe that all tribes have had some knowledge of Him, the Great Spirit, and have sought Him to greater or lesser degree. We must respect how the Creator has made His children and help them discover His Son Jesus, who brings freedom to them and righteousness to their culture. It is our goal to live respectfully among the people and be Pahana to them. We believe that now is the appointed time for indigenous peoples. (Isaiah 49:1-13)
